The statement of the first period of the Villa Award in the category of unbuilt villas was read by "Fatemeh Tajik", the director of the secretariat of this award, on 25th November 2021 at Iranian Cinema Museum (Ferdous Garden, Tehran), after a short description of the educational, cultural, and professional activities of the Villa Magazine at the national and international level.

Throughout history, the villa has showcased human thoughts, ideas, and aspirations to recreate a paradise on earth. Over time, villa architecture has been searching for peace in the human's daily life to return him to his inner nature regardless of the limitations of time and place. Today, the villa is an ideal context for "architectural innovations". The life of a villa consists of fantasies that try to change reality through art.

According to scientific research, the theory of contemporary architectural trends in the world with different geographical and cultural characteristics has emerged from the era of Palladio onwards by the villa typology. Villa's tradition often refers to pure and avant-garde ideas in architecture. Many architects look at the villa not only as a summer or temporary residence but also as a platform for testing new ideas and generating new concepts and ideologies. Villas can be considered experimental houses for architectural studies, testing technical and functional aspects, or developing spatial ideas. It can be said that the villas are prototypes for the future projects of an architect.

From the beginning until today, Villa Magazine has been able to attract the attention of many prestigious universities and prominent scientific and professional figures of architecture in the world based on its scientific activities and research. The opinions received from famous figures of art and architecture in the world show that Villa Magazine is on an upward path and ranks among the top architecture magazines in terms of visual quality and content.

In this regard, the Villa Award, by focusing on conceptual projects, experiments, and architectural practices, creates an opportunity to cultivate and display new and forward-looking ideas in the culture and life of a villa. In the first step, this award presents the topic of "Unbuilt Villas" to demonstrate the importance of this approach.
